Realising she needed help, Emma sought assistance from Systemic Changes. Systemic Changes developed a tailored care plan that included a team of clinical professionals to provide comprehensive support. Supporting the Thompson Family Through Crisis
The Thompson family was in crisis due to the father’s alcoholism, combined with the mother’s codependency. Their two children, aged 14 and 16, were struggling with their own addictions—one with an eating disorder and the other with excessive gaming.
The care plan devised by Systemic Changes included inpatient treatment for the father to address his alcohol dependency, while the mother engaged in individual therapy to explore her codependency. Both children were paired with coaches who specialised in process addictions. Once the parents and children had made initial progress in their individual journeys, the family engaged in joint therapy sessions.
Through the comprehensive support provided by Systemic Changes, the Thompson family successfully navigated their crisis and began the journey toward healing. By addressing individual struggles through therapy and coaching, coupled with family therapy to strengthen their bonds, they developed the tools needed to manage their challenges and create a healthier family dynamic.
